Westham Secondary School is a well-recognised learning institution in the Phoenix area of Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal. Bridging numerous marginalised communities, 220 of it’s 550 students face the harsh reality of food insecurity daily. Recognising the critical role of nutrition in unlocking their potential, Alpha has joined hands with The Sprout Foundation to spearhead a transformative initiative: The installation and upgrade of a kitchen facility at Westham Secondary School. Through this partnership, Alpha is not only contributing to the physical well-being of these students but also sowing back into the very communities that have nurtured many of its own staff members.
Alpha’s commitment to supporting the kitchen upgrade at Westham Secondary School underscores a profound understanding of the challenges faced by underdeveloped communities. For 220 learners who struggle with food insecurity, the provision of hot meals on a daily basis is a lifeline—a source of nourishment that fuels not only their bodies but also their minds. By partnering with The Sprout Foundation, Alpha is not just addressing immediate needs but also investing in the long-term well-being and educational outcomes of these students.
