Alpha’s Impact on the Community

About Sprout

The Sprout Foundation NPC is a registered South African NPO committed to uplifting the youth. Through schoolbased support, feeding initiatives, and employment programmes, Sprout works to ensure that every child has the nourishment, opportunities, and skills they need to thrive. Sprout is proud to be partnered with Alpha, whose support has helped us reach many of our goals in uplifting the youth we serve this year.

Alpha’s Impact in 2025

Alpha-esg

Together, we are planting seeds of hope. Alpha’s support this year has enabled the Sprout Foundation to:

  • Provide daily meals to children facing food insecurity
  • Ensure vulnerable learners have essential resources
  • Improve school environments
  • Support education, digital literacy, and learner wellbeing
  • Restore dignity to young people through basic needs support

Food Security Impact

Alpha-esg

Alpha ensured that no orphaned or vulnerable child from our partner schools went hungry during the school holidays. The November food parcels also included essential toiletries and a small gift to help maintain dignity and bring joy during the festive season.

In 2025, Alpha contributed to holiday food parcels for every school break across our partner schools:

  • Isihlangusabasha Primary
  • Westham Secondary
  • Groutville High

Total Parcels Sponsored in 2025:

  • March: 625
  • June: 575
  • October: 675
  • November: 530

Over 2,400 food parcels sponsored in 2025.

During school holidays, children lose access to the daily meals provided at school. For many, these donated parcels are their only secure source of food.

Daily Feeding Programmes

alpha-esg

Alpha contributed towards daily breakfast meals at two partner schools:

  • Isihlangusabasha Primary – 488 learners
  • Groutville Secondary – approx. 1,000 learners

Over 1,400 learners received a warm, vitaminenriched breakfast every school day. This complements the lunch meal provided by schools, ensuring two meals a day for children who often have nothing to eat at home.

When learners are well-nourished, they concentrate better, remember more, and attend school more consistently.

School Environment & Resources

Alpha made significant improvements across all three partner schools:

Groutville High
Donation of two soccer kits to promote physical activity, teamwork, and healthy habits.

Isihlangusabasha Primary
Fans repaired and replaced after 5 years of wear and tear. Critical for learners who struggle to concentrate in extreme summer heat.

Westham Secondary
Support for their school kitchen, including:

  • Donated used office furniture such as cupboards, lockers, tables, a microwave, and additional furniture
  • Materials to repair kitchen doors for safety
  • Replacement of large catering pots
  • Cleaning & hygiene supplies

Education & Future Skills

Digital Skills: TECT Programme Support

Alpha donated second-hand laptops to the TECT Programme (Teach Each Child Tech). This allowed facilitators to teach:

  • Basic computer skills
  • Coding
  • Robotics

These skills are taught to learners in three schools that previously had no access to computer lessons. This is an investment into future careers and long-term economic empowerment.

Wellbeing & Dignity

Mandela Day Support
On Mandela Day, The Alpha family contributed:

  • 100 stationery packs to learners in need which ensure children do not fall behind due to lack of basic tools.
  • 438 packs of sanitary pads for girls at underresourced schools which prevents absenteeism that affects academic performance.

These contributions address basic but critical needs that directly impact learning.
